![]() ![]() When installation is complete, click Finish in the dialog that appears. Don't interrupt the installation process. ![]() ![]() When prompted to allow changes, click on Yes and follow the onscreen instructions. Apple has created a website overviewing all the new features in Mojave, for your convenience: macOS - Mojave Preview In short: dark mode (UI re-skin).Double click on setup to start installing the Boot Camp Support Software. When running Windows, locate the Boot Camp folder on the USB media you created in Step 3 and double click to open it.zip file to the root level of a USB flash drive or hard drive that is formatted with the FAT file system Double click it to uncompress it, if it is not automatically uncompressed. The latest Bootcamp drivers, that is Bootcamp 6 don't support windows 7/8 installation as far as I know, so you'll have to get older drivers. Booting into Windows 7, you can then manually install the Bootcamp drivers. You would create an exFat partition, get a bootable Win7 installer disk and boot into the disk to install Win7 on the exFat partition. Regardless, I appreciate that you took the time to respond and I apologize for being snippy. What I would suggest is getting old bootcamp files and going the manual route, that is, without using Bootcamp assistant. I'm not necessarily saying that was your intention, just that it reads that way. It's just plain not helpful and really just comes off as person B indirectly insulting the intelligence of person A by invalidating the issue they are having. The forum trend of person A asking "I have setup X, how do I do Y?" and person B responding with "X is bad, you should have setup Z" while not addressing the actual question of how to do Y is super annoying. Telling me to nuke my setup to solve a boot order issue is not really trying to help answer the original question. Why so negative to someone trying to help? If you are having trouble getting your install to work, let me know and I'll see if I can dig anything up. It's also worth noting that this machine is a frankenstein between a MD831LL/A and what was originally a MC976LL/A with a dead 650M so your mileage may vary. In case whatever guide you follow for your machine does not list it (11,1/Saucy does not, for example, but I believe I ended up using something from there since is in the repository list on the machine I downloaded the drivers with), you may also need this repository to get some stuff working: I had to install the wireless driver and all of its dependencies manually by downloading them on another computer and moving them over with a flash drive because neither wireless nor my (Thunderbolt) wired adaptor worked out of the box because whatever version I originally installed did not come with compatible drivers. I will note that once I did get it installed, I had quite the time getting any network drivers working. Again, not really sure how I did it or why I did it that way. TBH, I would probably just use this guide instead of trying to abuse the Bootcamp install if I were to do it again. Boot Camp is Apple's function that enables a Mac to have a partition set up for running Windows outside of macOS, without needing to use a virtual machine within macOS itself. In particular, this guide is the one that says it works for the 10,1. I do think that I used some information from here: and here. Click OSXRESERVED in the graph that appears, then click the remove button () below the graph. If Disk Utility asks whether you would like to add a volume to the container or partition the device, click Partition. In the Disk Utility toolbar, click Partition. Without another OS to pick at start up, it should default to the remaining OS: Mac OS. Select your Mac startup disk (Macintosh HD) in the sidebar. To use Mac OS, unplug the drive and start. To use Windows, plug in the external drive and start. Then remove the Windows partition from the internal drive. It was a few years ago so I'm not exactly sure how I did it although I vaguely remember installing Windows and then replacing Windows with Ubuntu. Another option might be to copy the Windows partition (use a drive cloning app) to an external drive. Please describe how to install Ubuntu using Boot Camp.
